Sad News

Date of occurrence:
December 15, 2011.

Well, sadly but true, it is a done deal; even though it was totally against all our hopes and wishes, our grandchildren's parents are as of today officially divorced.

What is even worse though is that the judge gave full custody to the kids' father and his plans are to take them to the place he is currently working and residing, which is all the way up in Kansas.

That pretty much eliminates many chances of visiting with the little critters, because a non-stop 16 to 17 hour one way drive is not something you undertake without having to go through a lot of planning ahead and with the gas prices as high as they are these days, it would also mean a huge dent in the budget.

The last is of the least importance though, it is the time-robbing trip up there and back and having to take off from work that is the killer. At least the grandkids will be spending the entire month of July with their mom, so we will have some time to catch up with them.

I can assure you that the months in between them leaving and for us to see them again will seem like an eternity. Hopefully, we can keep up with them over the Internet, but until then, we will make the most of the time we still are able to spend with them!
