The Freezer

Date of occurrence:
August 1, 2017.

Aunt A. is coming over to spend some time with Leo and Kc and I decide to play a joke on the boys.

Me; "Aunt A. is coming over and will have supper with us."
Kc: "Oh, that's nice."
Me: "Yeah. Her freezer is empty and she has nothing to eat. So, she has supper here and after supper she will check out your and Leo's fingers."
Kc: "Why?"
Me: "To see who is juicy and fat enough to take home, stick in the oven, and fill up her freezer."
Kc: "No. For real?"
Me, straight faced: "Yes."
Kc: "For real?"
Me: "Yes, for real."
Kc runs of, locates Leo and tells him: "Aunt A. is coming over to drink our blood."

Leo wants to find out for himself what the story is and I tell him the same thing I told Kc. He gets a big grin on his face, sticks out his chubby tummy and says: "I am the fat and juicy one. I get to go home with her."

I laugh and let the cat out of the bag and tell them it is a joke. Kc, who didn't really believe it at first, is relieved. Leo is disappointed. He really had his heart set on going home with aunt A.

Sorry, buddy. Maybe next time.
