The Overnighter
Date of occurrence:
April 30, 2019.
Bell and Lily will spend the night with aunt A. The latter wanted to spend some extra time with her nieces and she picks the girls up in the afternoon.
The first thing on the agenda is a trip to the store where the girls get to pick out some toys. When they get back, they play with them, eat, and watch TV together.
So far, all is going without a hitch.
Sleepy time comes around and so do the proverbial bumps in the road. Lily cries her little eyes out, because she wants all of them to sleep on the couch. Bell on the other hand wants to sleep in aunt A.'s bed.
After some negotiations, Aunt A. comes to a solution. She and Bell wait until Lily is asleep on the couch and then carry her to the guest bedroom, where they put her in bed.
Once that is done, Bell and aunt A. go to sleep. In the middle of the night, aunt A. is woken up by a little hand on her arm. It is Lily.
Lily: "I is cared."
Aunt A.: "Are you scared? Well, crawl in bed with us."
Lily does, but a few minutes later she says: "The door. I can't see the door."
Aunt A. doesn't know what she means. Bell wakes up and explains that it is too dark for Lily. She needs some light.
Aunt A. gets up and opens the bathroom door to let in some light. That does the trick and they all can go back to sleep.
Morning comes earlier then aunt A. has wanted. She is tired, but the girls are fine and looking forward to a special breakfast: donuts!
They get ready for church and as they arrive there, aunt A. suddenly realizes she forgot to pick up Kc.
She must have gotten a little overwhelmed by the overnighter! Grin.
