Corona Virus-Minded

October 16, 2020.

Isabella has joined the cub scouts and just can’t get enough of learning all she needs to know. We quickly progress to the outdoor code, which she needs to study.

It goes like this:

Outdoor code:
As an American, I will do my best to
- be clean in my outdoor manners,
- be careful with fire,
- be considerate in the outdoors, and
- be conservation-minded.

Bell reads it for the first time and all goes well, until she gets to the last sentence.

Bell reads: “And be corona virus-minded.”

I laugh out loud.

Bell is a little puzzled.

Bell: “isn’t that what it says?”

Nope, it is not, but you are right about one thing..

It may as well have!
