Flying High

Date of occurrence:
June 1, 2023.

It is 7 pm and we are at the church where Kc’s Board of Review for Eagle Scout will take place. The board members arrive, the review starts, and aunt A. and I are nervously waiting until they are finished.

Kc comes out. He has to wait while the board members make their decision. They have reached a conclusion and come to get all of us.

Board member: “Kc, we forgot to ask you a question. It is a historical question and it all hinges on that.”

Uh oh, that doesn’t sound good.

We step into the room and here comes the all deciding question.

Member: “Kc, what happened on June 1st?”

Kc looks a little confused. 

Other member: “What year?”

First member: “2023. What happened on June 1st, 2023?”

Kc (a little uncertain): “I got my Eagle??”

Yes, he did. Our little man made it to Eagle Scout. We can not be any prouder.
