Long Way From Home

Date of occurrence:
December 22, 2024.

Early this morning, Kc sends me this picture.

Me:”Awwww.”

Kc:”It’s a Carolina wren.”

Me:”Cool. How did that wind up in the house?”

Kc:”I don’t know.”

A few hours later I ask him if they got the bird out of the house.

Kc:”Mama wanted to keep it,”

Me:”Oh no. It’s still in the house?”

Kc:”Yeah.”

Poor Carolina wren. It’s a long way from home.

Or…, it just found home?!
