In Quarantine

Date of occurrence:
October 27, 2020.

We get a call this morning from someone who is affiliated with scouting. He first tells us how well Kc did at the Ordeal. That is good to hear and we are so proud of him.

I suppose he decided to give us the good news first, because the bad news comes next. One of the other candidates, who went through the Ordeal with Kc, tested positive for Covid.

That means Kc has to quarantine for about ten to fourteen days. We break the news to his Mom who thinks it best to let him stay in his room as much as possible.

The likelihood he would infect his sisters or parents is too great, in case he contracted the virus. We understand and feel sorry for our little man, but we see no other solution either.

Kc has his Xbox, TV, phone, and a dog to keep him company in his room. School, FaceTime, and working on merit badges to keep him occupied.

Still, it is no fun and we pray he doesn’t have Covid. Better safe than sorry, and...

This too shall pass!
