Already Three Years Old
Date of occurrence:
October 8, 2012.
Today is little miss Emmaly's Birthday. She is already turning three years old; where did the time go?
She is growing up to be quite a character and loves jewelry, dressing up, and playing with her doll. She also tries to lay her hands on her brothers' remote controlled cars, but that is often to no avail.
Keeping all that in mind, we decided to send her a little pony with its personal remote controlled car and a few smaller things. Her aunt A. sent her some jewelry and of course we all included a little something for the boys as well.
We called her today to wish her a Happy Birthday and hoped the presents had arrived. They had, but the Birthday girl hadn't opened them yet. Since this would take place after dinner, we kept our mouths shut as not to spoil the surprise.
When I got on the phone with her, I said to her: "Happy Birthday, little missy", to which she replied: "Happy Birthday, little Oma". She returned the wish to Opa and her mom as well. My guess is she hasn't quite grasped the concept of a birthday yet, but I have no doubt she will soon enough.
Once she does, I suspect she will grasp it with both hands and milk it for all it's worth! Grin.
