A First
Date of occurrence:
August 10, 2015.
Summer vacation is over and Kc is going back to school. It is his first day in the 3rd grade and we hope he will be doing well. He is excited and has a lot to share when we pick him up after school.
Since he doesn't have any homework yet, he figures it would be a good time to continue his soap-carving project in progress.
It is coming along when suddenly Kc steps into the office. The look on his face is a mix of shock and guilt. Upon the question what is wrong, he lifts up his left hand and shows his index finger.
Kc: "I don't know how that happened, because my fingers were far away from the knife."
He cut himself. The skin is barely broken, but it is bleeding a little bit. I am not surprised. I kind of expected that to happen sooner or later.
We take care of his injured finger and impress on him again to be extremely careful.
We don't have to worry about that for now; Kc decides he did enough carving for today.
Yeah, it was bound to happen. There is a first time for everything.
Hopefully this is the last time as well!
