First Time Roller Skating
Date of occurrence:
August 10, 2017.
Kc comes home from school with a pamphlet saying the roller skating rink is open at a certain evening this week for the students.
He had wanted to attend last year, but unforeseen circumstances prevented him from going. Since school has just started and no homework has been given, this is the perfect time to correct that situation.
Kc's best buddy J., who lives next door, is joining us and off we go. It is not too busy, but the music is deafening. The boys get their roller skates, put them on, stand up and... Kc is on the floor.
It is his first time roller skating, so I was expecting he would be examining the floor up close many times. Thank goodness, the roller skating rink provides devices to hold on to and I give him one.
They get in the rink and J. rolls off. He has done it before and is quite good at it.
Kc stomps around on his roller skates, frantically holding on to his support.
As the evening goes by, he gets better at it.
After several falls, hurting his elbow and his wrist, he moves around pretty fast. He still can't do it on his own, but he is more skilled at it than when he started.
The boys had a great time and to say that Kc likes roller skating would be an understatement.
He loves it and can't get enough of it!
