First School Day

August 11, 2021.

Summer vacation is over and it is time for the kids to go back to the salt mines, so to speak.

Lily will be going to Kindergarten and big brother is going to high school. It’s a first for both.

Bella is attending second grade and is happy to find out she has the same teacher as last year.

Lily has to wait with Mom. She, and several other kids, are not on the role yet, but it will be sorted out soon.

Well, soon is an understatement. It takes about three and a half hours before Lily finally gets in class.  In the meantime, she is more and more convinced that school is horrible and she wants to go home.

How much has her enthusiasm diminished? Well, look at these before and during-the-wait pictures.

Kc has no schedule. While Mom is talking to one lady, Kc talks to another. He finds out where his home room is, how to get there, and takes off. He will figure it out as the day progresses.
