Nostalgic, Safe and Fun

We are already looking around to get some inspiration concerning Christmas presents for our grandchildren. It is not an easy task, taking in account their differences in age, likes and dislikes.

Personally, I always liked wooden toys; they instill a feeling of nostalgia in me, but I am also convinced they are much sturdier then all the plastic ones which we can find in the stores these days.

I know that in the past, most of the colored, wooden toys were considered to be toxic due to the paint used, but those days are long gone. Nowadays, all wooden toys are very safe to play with and no one needs to worry anymore when a child sticks them in its mouth.

It would be more of a problem finding a great selection of wooden toys these days. Thanks to the Internet though, we can find some wonderful, wooden toys online for every age.

I saw some cute toys from HABA for our 1 year old granddaughter and I am sure our grandsons would get a kick out of 'endangering' the living room by speeding around on one of the running bikes.

I found some great presents for Christmas and there is no doubt in my mind that those wooden toys will easily stand up to both the way they would be treated and the hand of time!
