The Apology
Date of occurrence:
August 15, 2011.
Even though we all truly enjoy each other's company, with the boys staying over that much some friction every now and then is inevitable. Yes, we have our spats at times, but as the word already indicates; they are brief and quickly resolved.
Little Kc loves to help in and around the house and especially cleaning the toilet with the toilet brush has a huge attraction to him. He has the tendency to put up the brush while it is dripping wet, leaving a trail of water on the bathroom floor and I showed him how to avoid that.
Today, he started cleaning the toilet again, but got angry when I told him he had to get out of the bathroom, because I needed to be there and he was getting in my way. He pulled out the soaking brush and deliberately held it over the floor, causing a huge puddle.
Annoyed with his behavior, I asked him why he did that and since he didn't bother to answer, I sent him in the bedroom. After a little while I asked him if he was ready to talk; just an angry look was his reply and I shut off the TV which he was watching and told him he could watch again after he got ready to talk.
Upon me asking him again a couple of minutes later, he looked at me, bowed his head and whispered; "I am sorry". Yeah, that tugged at my heart and sure got the job done; our little quarrel ended right there and then! :-)
