A Piece Of The Pie
Date of occurrence:
August 11, 2011.
I make a habit of have some special treats for the kids when they come over. They all love Jello, pies and chocolate, but we rather avoid the sugar rush and therefore I ensure that it is all sugar free.
Today I had chocolate pie and since that is even better with topping, little Kc and I went into the kitchen to fix him up. He always wants to help and gets the pie and topping out of the fridge, while I get him a plate and a fork.
He opens the tub of topping and since there is some stuck to the inside of the lid, he wants to lick it. I told him he couldn't do that, until the tub would be empty and had to be thrown out.
He won't, but every now and then the temptation is great and out of the corners of my eyes I see how he runs his finger over the top and sticks it in his mouth. I can't help it, but it makes me smile and I refrain from commenting.
Well, the day had finally come.
Kc: "Oma, is it empty now?"
Me: "Yup, it is."
Kc: "Then I can lick it?"
Me: "Yes, you can."
He didn't waste any time and did a thorough job; the pie was gone in no time and the lid was super clean after he got through with it. All that was left to do was clean up the boy. Grin.
