The Real Deal
Our three year old granddaughter loves to dress up and adorn herself with all kinds of jewelry. She loves to wear her crown and clip-on earrings that came with one of her outfits and claimed a very colorful Mardi Gras necklace which I had kept in abundance from previous years.
Where she got that love for jewelry from is beyond me, but it certainly seemed to be ingrained in her and I anticipate it will only grow over the years. She could learn a thing or two where diamonds are concerned from her aunt, who is rather knowledgeable in that department, and I can teach her a little about pearls.
There are several ways to determine whether a pearl is real or fake. The most common way is to run the pearl over the edge of your teeth. Fake pearls will feel smooth, while real pearls feel sandy and gritty. Real pearls are also heavier then fake ones, cold to the touch, and will leave a powdery residue when you rub them together.
These are just a few methods to recognize real pearls from fake ones, but there are several more and I hope our little Miss will be interested in learning how to identify whether she will be throwing her money out of the window, or is investing it in the real deal!

Great! You're online, Lieve Zus :))) Read about the typhoon in USA. Please be safe and dry. Take care.
Audrey,
Yup. The Internet went out, but it was only for a short while. We are just grateful to still have power.
As far as staying dry goes; we will as long as we stay inside. It has been and still is raining hard ever since yesterday and the end is not near in sight. That will cause major flooding in and around our area, but will not have a negative impact where our abode is concerned. Praise The Lord!

God's Grace.
To God be the glory!!! (((HUGS)))
