Slobbery
Date of occurrence:
April 1, 2016.
A few weeks ago all the children in Kc's class had gotten a cabbage plant with the instructions on how best to grow it.
We planted the cabbage sprout, watered it, gave it some fertilizer, and put it in a good, sunny place.
After a while it sure has grown, but we do notice some holes in the outer leaves. Something is feasting on it, and in spite of examining it up close regularly, we can't find the culprit.
Kc is a little worried about his project and after giving it some water, he inspects it again thoroughly.
He comes in and tells me he saw a green worm crawling around inside the cabbage. I ask him if he got it out.
Kc: "No. I tried, but I couldn't."
Me: "Why not?"
Kc: "It was kind of slobbery."
Yeah, that happens when you are a small, green worm surrounded by a delicious meal!
