The Appetite Shut-Down
Date of occurrence:
June 13, 2017.
Leo comes back from Vacation Bible School and is complaining about his ankle and his throat hurting. He has no clue how it happened or what caused it, but we suspect a good night sleep might be the cure.
The next morning his ankle is fine, but his throat is still hurting. We don't like that and decide to keep an eye on him.
He is doing okay until lunch time comes around. His stomach is normally a bottomless pit and in many occasions I have to stop him from over-eating.
Today however, he eats a bit and says he doesn't want anymore because his throat is hurting and balls up in the recliner.
When Leo's appetite shuts down, you know something is wrong and we call his Mom to let her know. She thinks he has a virus which causes his tonsils to act up.
She will keep Leo with her for a few days to try and contain anything that might be bugging him from spreading around.
That is wise, although it may already be too late. We hope not. We are still getting over a bad upper respiratory infection and don't need another virus attack.
Let's pray it is nothing serious and Leo is up and running again soon.
In his case we probably ought to say 'up and eating' again!
