The Gift Of Giving

Date of occurrence:
December 25, 2008.
Kc's second and Leo's first Christmas.

It is Christmas, finally. We are so looking forward to having the kids and especially the boys over and watch them unwrap their presents. Santa Claus had not intended to bring that much, but he could not resist passing up some off the cool toys he came across.

He chose well. The boys were in toddler heaven. Kc got the hang of tearing off the paper pretty quick, while Leo was a little apprehensive at first. With a little help from his mom and lots of encouragement from the rest of the family, the apprehension was soon being replaced by excitement.

In no time the floor was covered with pieces of wrapping paper, bows, packing materials and toys: lots and lots of toys. The boys enjoyed their gifts to the fullest, although I sincerely doubt they enjoyed opening their gifts as much as Opa and Oma did.

Even though it is always better to give then to receive, the wondering look in those little eyes, the excitement, the smiles and the laughter which we got in return were priceless.

Those boys are such great gifts from God and they keep on giving; filling our hearts with gratitude, joy and love all year around!
