Our Little Ritual

Date of occurrence:
March 10, 2009.
Kc is 2 yrs and 1 month old and Leo is 13 and a half months old.

Since their Dad was helping us out by painting our house, Mom and the babies came over for a visit. It is always so good to see them. The fun begins with a little ritual, when they come in. Lil' Kc walks right up to me, arms in the air as a sign to be picked up and little Leo wobbles right behind him, doing the same.

My back does not always allow me to pick them both up, I sit down on the floor with them. We hug and cuddle and exchange some pleasantries. Okay, I do, the boys just respond in their own way.

Me, pointing at the Mardi Gras necklace Kc was wearing: "Wow, Kc. What have you got?"
Kc picks at his necklace and holds it up to show me.
Me: "A necklace, That is so pretty!"
Kc drops his necklace and points at mine.
Me: "Yeah, that is Oma's necklace and Kc has one too"
Kc gives me a big smile. All that time Leo is just leaning up against me, with a big grin on his face.

Enough of that and Kc walks straight to the kitchen, stops in front of the cabinets and points at the one, where their cups are stored in. Leo follows, not quite sure yet what to expect, but knowing it's going to be good.

Both get a cup with some orange juice and a handful of some fruitsy toddler candies. I still haven't figured out how they manage to do it, but those soft gummy candies are devoured in no time. Then it is on to playing and our little ritual is over.

It is one though, Oma would not want to miss for the world. :-)
