The New Place

Guest post from: Steve Delaney

When my husband and I moved into the new place we did all the regular stuff: called the lawn company, went to DirectStarTV.com and painted the walls, you know, the basics. But what my husband wasn’t counting on was that I would happen to drive by the pet store and see the cutest basset hound in the world just begging me to take him home! He was pretty surprised when I brought Tiny home but he was happy in the end – now that we’ve got this big yard I don’t feel so bad about having a dog because he can just go out there and roam around anytime he wants. I’m thinking about getting one of those electric doggie fences but I’m a little worried they’re inhumane. Any thoughts? I want to make sure Tiny’s safe in the yard but the thought of giving her a shock when she tries to leave scares me to death! I love being a pet owner and I’m glad the new house allows me to be one.
