Covered Ears
Date of occurrence:
September 16, 2011.
I wish I had a picture to show you of the following situation, but it all happened so fast and came totally unexpected.
Little Leo had tried to take away a toy his brother was playing with. Of course that created some friction and I had to step in to restore the peace. That was easier said then done, because Leo had only one goal in mind and that was to get that toy.
I took him aside and tried to talk to him and even had a good solution to offer him in return. I never got to telling him the solution; he simply wouldn't have it and made it impossible.
He was throwing a hissy fit because he couldn't get the toy and when I told him to stop crying and listen to me; he covered both his ears with his hands. It was funny and annoying at the same time, but it sure stopped every form of communication.
Unfortunately for him, it stopped everything; I will not tolerate that kind of attitude and to prevent this from happening again, I sent him in time-out, until he was ready for reasoning.
He still hasn't figured out it is up to him when that will be, but I am sure eventually he will get it. I do hope for his own sake that next time he will listen; he not only missed out on playing with any toy, but he passed up a solution which I am sure he would have enjoyed.
I am sorry little Munchkin man, but we all have to learn from our experiences and the sooner we do, the better off we are!
