When The Shoe Fits

We all have heard the expression 'when the shoe fits...' but the boys have a way of making them fit no matter what foot they are supposed to go on.
It is little Kc in particular who constantly keeps asking whether the shoe he had got in his hand goes on the foot he is holding up.
Once he finally has one shoe on the appropriate extremity, he asks if the left-over shoe goes on the only foot without one. He still hasn't figured out yet that the remaining shoe automatically should go on the other foot.
It occurs more often then not that one of the boys gets off on the wrong foot. They are ready to go outside when I notice at least one of them has their shoes on incorrect.
Even though we tried to give them some pointers, so far it has been without any success. I know it will take some time and they are definitely putting their best foot forward!
