Playing The Day Away
Date of occurrence:
December 25, 2011.
It was a good thing we didn't plan anything else this Christmas morning, because it probably would have had to be postponed or put off. The grandchildren simply couldn't get enough of playing with all those new, exciting toys and time flew by.
If we hadn't stopped them dead in their tracks, the kids would totally have skipped the most important meal of the day and since we can't have that, we called them to the table.
It wasn't much of a chore to get them to calm down and take the time to eat; they had gotten some new placemats, bowls, and utensils from Santa as well, and looking forward to using those was enough to get them all situated and fill those little stomachs.
They made short notice of it and it doesn't take much imagination to know what was next on their agenda. Yup, play, and play, and more play! :-)
