The Alligator

Date of occurrence:
January 8, 2012.

Aunt A. and uncle D. brought back a small alligator head for Opa from their trip to Louisiana and we thought how cool that would be to tell and show the grandkids when we had the chance.

We tried setting up a video conference, but it constantly failed to connect and instead we called little Kc on his phone. We told him about the alligator and we got the impression he didn't really know what it was, but both he and Leo were very interested in seeing it when the opportunity would arise.

It tugged at our hearts hearing how he had wanted to come to our house, but his daddy had told him it was too far to would take a long, long time to get here. We assured him he would be here at some point. That seemed to ease his mind.

Leo kept asking to talk to his momma, but she wasn't here and we encouraged Kc to call her from his phone, which he said he would do. They don't seem to be playing outside very much and our understanding is that they don't have many toys to play with yet, but are watching movies and playing Nintendo.

It was good to hear they did go to a playground and to the Zoo, although the latter was closed at that time. Maybe they get to go another time and see an alligator up close and personal.

Hopefully not too close and too personal! Grin.
