Up There
Date of occurrence:
June 13, 2015.
It is time for the kids to hit the hay. Emmaly is always ready pretty quick. The boys usually take a little longer.
When they are finally settled in they say their prayers. Kc is finished and it is Leo's turn. He has the habit of rattling off a kid's prayer and be done with it. I told him yesterday that he can also talk to God and he must have taken that to heart. Listening to his prayer I know he has.
Leo: "Please protect our house and everyone in it. Be careful and don't get hurt, ehhh..... up there. And have fun. Amen."
I can't control myself and laugh out loud. Kc follows suit. Leo on the other hand has a puzzled look on his face.
Leo: "Why are you laughing?"
I want to answer his question, but it takes quite some effort on my part to get a hold of myself.
Leo asks again: "What's so funny? I don't get it."
I am finally to the point where I can answer him, but I don't want to go into an elaborate explanation at this late hour and tell him: "It's okay. You don't have to get it. Just know that your prayer was very, very sweet."
He seems satisfied with that for now.
As I leave the room, I am still grinning. I suspect God has a good sense of humor and Leo's prayer was received with a huge smile of endearment.
Up there! Grin.
