Wedding On A Dime

I sometimes wonder, how much of an influence we as grand parents have, on our grand sons. Even though we try to give them a safe, loving and caring place to come to, is that really how they perceive it? I suppose, we may find out as they get older.

I certainly hope, we achieve our goal and the boys will do the same for their grand children. I know, that is long ways down the road and they would have to get married and have children of their own first. Time flies however and before we know it, the boys and their future brides are sending out wedding invitations.

Yeah, time passes by so quickly. I just realised, that this year it is already three years ago, when their parents got married. It almost seems like yesterday. They did not have much money, to give a huge party. In spite of that, it was a gorgeous day and a great success.

Times were pretty hectic though. Our daughter found some really cheap wedding invitations, which were sent out at the last minute. Her wedding dress had to be created from scratch within two days, for which 'Yours Truly' took responsibility. My husband saw to the catering and made sure, that our backyard was immaculate, since the wedding was going to be held there.

Everyone pitched in, whether that was physically, or financially. No, she may not have had a huge orchestra playing on her wedding day. Instead, the CD player created a nice ambiance in the background. Not a stone was left unturned, to make this day memorable for bride and groom. We succeeded, if I say so myself.

Even though our daughter was a bride on a budget, that did not mean, that she had to do without anything. We managed to design on a dime. :-)
