Water Ballet

Kc is 2 yrs and almost 3 months old.
What is more fun then playing with sand? Playing with sand and ... water! While little critter was being entertained by all that sand, I thought how much more exciting it would be to have a little water to go with it. I got a small, plastic container, filled it up with almost half an inch of water and set in front of him.
At first, Lil' Kc looked at it, not really knowing yet what to do. That did not last long; after a few moments he was slapping his little hand in the water, creating a ballet of water droplets on and around him.
He had the greatest fun, until he lifted up the container and spilled half of the water over his jeans. A loud "Uh oh!" escaped him as he up at me with big eyes, seeing if he was in trouble. I told him it was just water and we would take care of it after he was through playing.
He picked up the container again and this time deliberately poured some more water over his jeans and looked up at me again. "It's okay. Oma will clean it up later." I will never forget that huge grin that appeared on his face and the good time he had playing with sand and water. It was precious!
I actually wonder who had a better time: lil' Kc playing or Oma watching. Grin.
