Camping Out
Date of occurrence:
May 4, 2018.
It is the first campout with the Boy Scouts and Kc is excited. He is packed and ready to go. Around 4 o'clock aunt A. picks him up and they head out.
The troop makes it to their destination about 2 and a half hours later.
They set up camp and what all happens after that is a mystery, because there is hardly any cell phone reception and aunt A. can't keep us up to date.
We get the scoop Sunday morning after their return.
It didn't go as well as we had hoped. One of the scouts kept taking Kc's gear away and Kc got really frustrated. It all worked out though and he did have a good time in spite of it all.
They hiked while working with a map and compass, learned how to handle a saw and ax and worked on First Aid and exercise.
He has got his first Boy Scout camp out and 5-mile hike under his belt. And...
Is well on his way to Tenderfoot rank!
