Father's Day... Out.
Date of occurrence:
June 20, 2009.
Father's Day.
I don't know what to say, but to give an account of what happened:
The day started out very pleasant. Lil' Kc had made Opa a drawing and he was so proud to and happy giving it to him. Opa hung it on the peg board in his office where he could see it each day.
Youngest daughter drug herself out of bed around noon and did not bother helping her sister and me preparing her Dad's dinner. Her attitude was full of resentment, disregard and disrespect.
She scribbled a few words in the Father's Day card her sister had bought and completely side-lined herself from any action and interaction. Everyone, except youngest daughter, sat down and enjoyed the meal.
All went well for a little while until her father asked her why she had changed all the plans that were made when she moved in with us. She had decided to overthrow those plans a couple of days prior to Father's Day and he wanted to know why.
She blew him off with disrespect and disregard trying to provoke him in to an argument. Her entire behavior was to hurt him and it did; he could not stand any longer, being around her at that moment. Instead of going in to an argument, we went for a drive.
When we got home, she was laying in bed, talking on the phone. As I passed by her room I heard her say that she was "very sorry for that". We did not think much of it, it was not our business. Little did we know at that time, how badly that was going to affect and hurt us the next day!
Either way, she did not come out of her room anymore for the rest of the evening. Father's Day was shot due to the hurt and grieve she had caused and had turned in to father's day out.
