My Friend
Date of occurrence:
July 9, 2012.
It is early, early in the morning when we hear the consistent rhythm of bare feet on the floor, making their way into our office. We already know from the sound that it is little Kc, because he walks, while Leo always runs and Emmaly won't leave the bedroom until she calls out and is assured she can.
Still in a waking up state, our little man greets us and after giving and receiving our good morning-hugs, Kc says he would like to watch some TV in his bedroom. We don't mind. Since it is so early, he may just go back to sleep, being all snuggly and warm lying in bed, and after tucking him back in I turn on the TV.
It will be difficult to find something for him to watch this early. I will let him decide and turn it on the lowest channel.
He knows how to use the remote and being the responsible little guy he is, I show him which button to push to go to the next channel until he finds something that piques his interest.
He is thrilled with this development. How do I know that? Because as I was about to walk out of his room he tells me: "Hey Oma, I am your friend!"
