A Change Of Mind
Date of occurrence:
July 18, 2012.
It is not always easy to know what children do and don't understand. It is easy to tell though after the fact, when it is made blatantly clear by the expression on their faces and the accompanied statements.
That was the case when this morning Opa was telling Kc and Leo about Jesus and how He had come to take away everyone's sins. Right after Opa mentioned it, little Kc's eyes grew big with despair and his face pretty much dropped to the floor due to huge disappointment.
His reaction made it quite obvious that he had no clue as to what a sin was and how he would be much better off without it. Yes, a little more explanation was needed and we were grateful for the opportunity.
If his reaction hadn't clued us in then most certainly his statement would have, because almost in tears, he looked at Opa and pleadingly said: "...but, but I want to keep my sins".
After finding out what he was trying to hold on to, he had a change of mind! :-)
