The Last Blue And Gold

Date of occurrence:
March 17, 2018.

We are attending the Blue and Gold banquet today which will be the last event where the Cub Scouts are concerned.

The AOLs are color guard and place the flags at the start of the banquet. Dinner is served and then it is time all the cub scouts have been waiting for: the Award Ceremony.

It takes a little while before it is Kc's turn, but it is worth it.

He receives his Arrow of Light badge and certificate, several pins, and his Super Achiever certificate.

The departing AOLs also get a nice, wooden display with their name and Arrow of Light emblem on it.

After the ceremony, we proudly return home and it is a little difficult to grasp that three and a half years of Cub Scouts are behind us.

It is on to the Boy Scouts now. Kc is looking forward to it and so are we. If he does as well there as he did in the Cub Scouts, he will make it to Eagle Scout. He says he has every intention to.

That's the spirit, little man! :-)
