Christmas Time

Date of occurrence:
December 25, 2009.

We are doing something different this year. Instead of putting all the presents nicely wrapped under the tree and the boys going through the aggravation of figuring out how to get the paper off and the toys out of the boxes, we spared them this entire ordeal.

We have taken every toy out of its package, placed batteries were they were required and set all the toys under the tree; an area for Kc, an area for Leo and one for Emmy. They are ready to grab and be played with.

The boys came in and stood there for a minute, taking in all the different toys. Oddly enough, they needed some encouragement and assurance those toys were theirs and they could play with them.

After that, it did not take long when toys could be found all over the place. The boys were playing with them and checking them out, including those belonging to their sibbling.

Little Emmy slept through most of it. I suppose she is used to her brothers bickering over a toy. It does not matter how many Santa Claus brings, they always seem to go for the same toy at the same time.

Maybe next year Santa should bring the same toy twice????
