A Paper Pet

Date of occurrence:
November 27, 2011.

I had saved a couple of small boxes with the intention to keep the boys busy by making animals out of them. I came across this idea on the net and since it was an easy and cute project, for which I had all the materials we needed, I thought they might enjoy it and they did.

I got the boxes and told them we were going to make animals out of them. The puzzled look on their faces was priceless; 'that is a box Oma, not an animal'. All true, but it will be and you just tell me what animal you want it to be.

Kc decided he wanted an elephant and Leo's choice fell on a cat. Okay, that's easy enough and with both boys watching, slowly but surely the boxes turned into the desired critters, which they could use as hand puppets.

They played with it for the longest time and asked if they could take it home. Sure, no problem and so it was done. I heard later that Leo didn't leave it out of his sight and was very careful with it.

Awww, how sweet. Maybe we ought to make him a petting zoo!
