Hitting The Mark
Date of occurrence:
June 20, 2015.
Being 7 months pregnant, our youngest daughter doesn't have much energy. Isabella on the other hand has peppiness for three. She is entirely wound up. She runs around, climbs on and over the couch, and jumps up and down all over it.
She is in a good mood and laughs all the time while she is doing it. I warn her to be careful and not hurt herself. Mom sighs and says Bell has been like that all day and is driving her nuts. Mom doesn't even have the gumption anymore to correct the little whirlwind.
I notice something on Bell's legs and upon taking a closer look I see streaks of black marker. Yeah, she marked up both her legs. Oh my goodness.
Mom: "You think that's bad, wait till you see her belly button."
I ask Bell if I can see her tummy. She lies back on the couch and lifts up her shirt. Her belly button and a vast area around it are one big black blotch. To complete this expression of body art, she drew black lines all over her chest.
Me: "Oh no. Bell, what did you do?"
Mom: "Yeah, it's permanent marker. I don't even know how I am going to get that off."
I don't know either, but one thing is quite obvious.
Isabella sure hit the mark!
